Green light for tomorrow
Well I must admit... the weather wasn't too bad today and it actually caught us off guard. Too many days calling wolf. We have been reluctant to leave the boat set up on the apron as squall after squall has brought very strong winds regularly hitting 50 knots. We wheeled Sailrocket out of the container before midday and began setting her up. It is the first time since we last sailed that we have been able to set up the platform so now that we have some new systems in place for raising the rig... we had lots of things to check.
The last sail was a good reminder to have things right so as Helena and I spliced and adjusted we had to ignore the good sailing conditions only 100's of meters away.
Tommorrow will be our day, the team are all coming down and we are totally ready. The RIB is launched and fueled, SAILROCKET is rigged on the apron in every detail. When things got dark we went back to the container, turned on the generator and went over the whole wing with the heat gun to make sure that the heatshrink was nice and taught.
So fingers crossed for tomorrow.
By the way, we have uploaded a video of our first days sailing onto this website so have a look through the video gallery. Let's hope the next one is a bit quicker. One of our jobs today was to set up the onboard camera so you can all come along for the ride. Job done.
Cheers, Paul.
