well that sucked!!!

Hey Ho...No go!!!
It was as if the Weymouth weather gods...or demons, just told us to F%*$ Off today. From out of nowhere came a Southerly. Just to tease us, the strength was perfect.
Not one forecast predicted this but then we don't totally rely on weather forecasts anyway.
It was a pretty gutting experience as we held high hopes for this now passed weather window. The next one may well be a long way away.
We simply can't afford to sit around and wait for this sort of randomness as it not a viable way to live without any means of support. Maybe it's the kick up the arse we need to make us look elsewhere in earnest.
The big picture is that we have made great progress in the last three months. I was going through my pics the other day and realised that three months ago we were still in Southampton with a bunch of flat composite panels before us wondering how we were going to build the flaps. It seems longer. So to be here with a boat finished and trialled is not such a bad thing. A couple of weeks ago we got in a number of runs but then most of those were in light winds as we checked things out. Now we are at the stage where we just want the good stuff. Weymouth has been useful and it has got us this far. We might get lucky and get a few good days in before we leave but today something snapped. We can't simply push on ignorant of the facts. We need very specific conditions to break the record and once we get them we will need to spend run after run refining, fixing and modifying. We will simply get frustrated waiting for Weymouth to deliver this and the next stage will drag on over an extended time frame.
The project cannot become a burden to be resented.
We are close to our goal and must go forward.
We need to go elsewhere.
We need to find a means of financing this and this is our new priority.

I'm a bit pissed off...at nothing in general. Everyone has bad days at work hey?

I think I will sleep on this one.

Cheers, Paul
p.s. Thanks again Vix and Col, xx.

I heart recently the Wright brother needed 1500 flight before they got it right. Developing new things can be very frustrating and takes a lot of perseverance. But that's wat makes it respect worthy and rewarding in the end.
Everybody who does similar things gets bad luck, criticism etc to endure.

Cheer up, you will get there !

Hope you will get the finance you need.
