Winter weather is here... time to go ho ho!!!

It's cold, the air is crisp and the wind all has North or East components. We tried to go sailing through this period last year and totally wasted our time. We swore we wouldn't do it again and we wont.
Portland Harbour has been good in getting us this far but now it is time to move the sailing program up a gear. We simply can't afford to sit around here waiting for random glamour days. we really only see one great day a month if we are lucky. So now the focus of the project needs to be to find a better location. By all accounts Namibia is that location and this is where we will look first. If our Recce. trip works out then we will aim for shipping the project down there and going on site for a three month period.
So far we have been able to make up for lack of funds by putting our own shoulders to the grind stone and that has brought us this far. This method worked for designing, building and trialling Sailrocket but from here on in we will need the support of a financial partner. We really have a great boat here. The fact we haven't got to 40 knots let alone 50 is no indication of the boats ability but more an indication of how long it takes to work up a totally new concept. Everyone wants to see us go straight out and smash records but it simply doesn't happen like that.
It will take as long as it takes but it won't be for the lack of comittment on our part.
We will get to Namibia or wherever it is that may be better. I don't know how just yet... but we will get there.
All offers of support welcome.
Cheers, Paul.

Good luck guys,

It looks like you've got a lot of promise in this boat, and as you suggest, you need a fair bit of tuning to get the thing humming.

I was involved in a uni project to make a racing car, and I know all about the late nights, broken gear, aborted test sessions, and heartache caused by stupid little things... I also know that if you put yourself out there then you CAN get sponsorship, and good sponsorship at that.

I wish you guys the best of luck, please don't give up, if you knock on enough doors then the sponsor will come. And then comes the fun part... cracking 50 knots!
