A cool run!

Well we got out there today, had a few rigging issues with tangled blocks inside the hull... but we got a run in.
I tried the big rudder raising system a few times before the run and it caught on one of them. It's funny how things that work perfectly on the shore quickly lose your confidence in the arena!
So we did a run. Avery clean and long run might I add.
The boat was a joy. The wind was light from 13-17 knots at around 130 degrees to the course. We touched 30 knots and it was so easy that I even raised my visor at one point. I edged in a bit closer to the shore but then reconsidered. All the way down the run I was thinking about raising the rudder... but then thought better of it. I will go back and beef up the uphaul system. When I trip this rudder I want it to slam up in an instant.
We got back in on dark. My feet are still stinging from all the jellyfish bites/stings. Man there were millions of the things. I've never seen so many. Big, small and different shapes... they were everywhere. The water was soup.
A good run. I want speed. The boat is ready.
Cheers, Paul.

Ah, but 130 won't bring home the chocolates I'm afraid. We were slightly over our VPP figures. The boat felt very efficient. the wind is just coming in now...1230 local time and it is a late tide. the rudder uphaul system has been doubled in strength and we are hoping for another run.
Cheers, Paul.
